A SEMA Show car builder...and more
where we came from
Founded by Gary Pundsack, The Walter Mitty Garage was created to fulfill a bucket list dream of his to build SEMA show cars--and then exhibit them at various show events, and race them at drag race and high speed track events. He's the consummate car guy, returning to his car roots from over forty years ago. The Walter Mitty Garage name comes from James Thurber's 1939 novel about a meek fellow living an average life, while having thrilling alter-ego fantasies. Kinda like Pundsack.

LEARN ABOUT ROXIE
TWMG ordered a 2017 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 (named "Roxie") to modify into a bagged show car look (wrapped in a pale gray with two tone blue accents) for her debut at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV. For the 2018 SEMA Show, Roxie was re-wrapped (in a pearl white, chrome blue and matte blue) with a street-strip design theme, Plans are underway to showcase her at the 2019 SEMA show with another wrap change and a serious drag-race look. Her 1,000hp motor and sophisticated suspension, driveline and other components--provided by over forty (40) sponsors--allow her to run in the 9's and 145mph in quarter-mile drag racing. Her SEMA-quality home garage build allows her to be a popular car at regional car shows in AZ, CA & NV.
Many of our sponsors have featured photographs and stories about Roxie & Pundsack in their own web-based and social media marketing programs. Roxie's build story was recently featured in Ford NXT magazine and in Street Muscle Magazine.
